Thoughts and Ideas – Some Good and Some Not So Much . . .

Update on bow changes

So yesterday I had changed my setup back to my original sight and a new drop-away rest (you can find the article here on my blog from yesterday). After spending about 15 minutes or so shooting it I felt pretty comfortable with my setup. But today was the real test – squirrels!

I got home and there was a squirrel in the backyard and the kids said “Dad! There’s a squirrel, see if you can shoot it”. I was a little skittish as I wanted to make sure my bow was performing well but felt I could take the shot. So got the Helim out and smacked that squirrel! Great shot and was very happy about as were the kids.

Then about 20 minutes later, kids said “Dad, there is another one.” So out came the Helim again and this time shot the squirrel right in the head. Overall great shot and we had two squirrels in one day. At this rate we will be able to have some for dinner sometime in 2013.

Overall, very happy now with my bow setup. Now to make sure I am dialed in at 40 yards and I will be ready for next season.
